Doggy Day Care

  • The Barley’s Canine Recreation Center’s doggy day care is a fun, clean and safe space for your dog to lounge around in or play around with other well behaved friends. With comfy couches and play equipment, it’s different than any other day care facility around town. 

    Barley’s is located in East Millcreek, close to Parley’s Nature Preserve and many hiking trails along the Wasatch Front.  We built our facility with your pooch in mind, soft rubber flooring, A/C, no chain link, a heated indoor swimming pool and a huge indoor/outdoor open play area for all pups to enjoy.  But most importantly, we have a limit of 40 dogs per day so your furry best friend is guaranteed to get loads of specialized attention and several hours of fun-filled adventure every day.  Give us a try next time you go to work, run errands, have your own recreation plans, or if you just want to let your dog socialize and exercise with us! 

    The recreation center provides a safe and entertaining indoor/outdoor environment that will be your dog’s home away from home. In addition to the play areas, pool and specialized care, your pooch will have a variety of comfy beds and couches in the lounge areas to relax on.

We ask our clients to complete the Client Intake form and Liability Agreement before scheduling a first-time swim orientation with a BCRC representative on their first visit. Please call (801)467-6069 to schedule your first visit for orientation and make sure to bring a copy of your pooch’s vaccination certificate with you. We require proof of current vaccinations for rabies, distemper, parvo and Bordetella. Barley’s requires the vaccinations to be administered by a licensed veterinarian’s office. Titers test results from within a year of the test date are acceptable for Distemper and Parvo.

If your dog is experiencing any symptoms of illness, especially diarrhea and coughing or choking, please do not allow them to attend any of the services at Barley’s until they have seen a veterinarian and/or the symptoms have disappeared. Disease can spread quickly in a day care setting and we at Barley’s are proud to provide a safe and sanitary place for dogs to play. Responsible dog owners will take all necessary measures to stop the spread of illness. Kennel cough outbreaks require a two week waiting period before visiting the recreation center.   • Specialty Services:  Swim or Wash

    In order to ensure the fun and safety for all pets that attend the day care, we will only accept well behaved, socialized dogs.  If you are not sure how your dog will react in an open group play setting, please contact us for an evaluation.

    Currently, we are filling up about a week in advance for daycare scheduling so please make sure to call ahead!

Mon-Fri: 7a–7p 
Sat: 9a–5p 
Closed on Sunday

Please let us know when you need help with alternative pick up, drop off or overnight services, at least 24 hours in advance.

Early drop-off fee – $5 for every 15 minutes.
Taxi service (within 5 miles) – $15 one way
Overnight stay – $30-$60 per night

A late fee will be charged for any pick-ups past regular business hours. The fee is $1 per minute payable before the next day of daycare. Additional daycare will not be provided until all late fees are paid in full. Three late pick-ups are grounds for re-evaluation of our daycare relationship. Please allow for extra travel time or arrange for an alternate person to pick up your pooch in case of bad weather, traffic, work relations, or other emergencies.
